Bill banning homosexual transformation treatment passes initial vote, enraging ultra-Orthodox

A bill outlawing controversial “gay conversion treatment” passed an initial vote into the Knesset on Wednesday, drawing cheers from LGBT legal rights advocates and angering Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ultra-Orthodox governmental allies.

The bill advanced level after Defense Minister Benny Gantz’s Blue and White celebration supported the legislation, in a move that produced a coalition crisis that is fresh. The government’s work celebration also broke using the coalition to straight straight straight back the balance.
